Consecration Preparation

The Consecration is a willing act of Surrendering your life to the Most Sacred Heart of our King of Mercy Jesus Christ, to the Immaculate Heart of our Queen of Peace Mary, and to the Most Chaste Heart of our Patron Saint Joseph. This Act of Consecration is done once ceremonially with a priest, and then repeated in daily life until all moments of your life are dominated by the Spirit of Christ and His most Sacred Heart radiates through your whole body, mind and soul.

If each member of the family places Christ above all else, and allows His merciful, most Sacred Heart to have Dominion in every situation, then His Word will be fulfilled within your family:

“ I say to you, further, if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be granted to you by my Father in Heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, I am there in their midst.”(Mt 18,19-20)

Then, as a family, you will live entirely by the gift of Grace and see the miracle as you believe.
The Holy Family lives amidst you!

The Act of Consecration should be done in the state of grace. Therefore, it is important to confess to a priest before the consecration. Since the consecration wants to touch all areas of your life, it is recommended to do it in a family setting at home with a priest or in a church.

Examination of Conscience

In preparation for the consecration, it is essential to study one’s conscience in depth so that, as a creature, one recognizes the need to acknowledge Christ as King, Mary as Queen, and St. Joseph as Patron over one’s entire life.

That is what this writing is for:

Also the 33-day consecration preparation from the Golden Book by St. Mary Louis Grignion,
or the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola are highly recommended

Before the Consecration

It is advisable to make the consecration on a significant day. If the consecration is carried out as a family consecration, it is also advisable to pray a communal preparatory Novena, to pray the Rosary or/and the Mercy Rosary together every day, and to explore in dialogue with one another why it is so necessary for us creatures to let the Holy Family reign over our family.

On the day of the consecration, if possible, the Sacrament of Penance is received by all, and Holy Communion. Inside the house a place & an altar is prepared where in the future the image or statue of the Holy Family and the images of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary will be venerated.

The images for the Consecration

We recommend one image of the Holy Family and one image each of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Sacred Heart of Mary.
However, everyone is free to choose a personal image or statue of Jesus and Mary and Joseph.
Holy water should be provided for the priest to bless the image or statue.

The blessing of the Miraculous Medal and the imposition of the brown scapular can be performed during the consecration.

If a family member does not want to participate in the consecration, or is even hostile to the faith, then the family consecration can still be carried out by the rest, trusting in Divine Mercy. Our King and Shepherd Jesus Christ also wants to lead the lost and stray sheep back to His Kingdom.
